AYCENOVIC

Istanbul-based architect and artist Aycenovic places the spatial perspective derived from her background in architecture and interior design at the heart of her art. The paper and pen, an integral part of her education, have evolved into a tool for calligraphic expression. Believing that words are artworks in their own right, the artist suggests that from the moment we learn to write our names in childhood, we begin to express ourselves through words and letters, and at the same time to create forms of art. Through her lines, Aycenovic aims to make pieces that carry the viewer from inner darkness into light, offering a sense of peace and joy.
